It's a cheap insurance policy for your motor in case of a short or fault in your trolling motor or connector
Coast Guard regulations require a circuit breaker in most types of electrical systems
The Minn Kota MKR-27, 60 amp circuit breaker is fully waterproof and protects the trolling motor from electrical damage. If you have a short circuit in your wiring between your battery and your trolling motor, or an electrical issue internally in your trolling motor that causes a high resistance event, this circuit breaker will protect your battery and your wiring/connector, will work with most trolling motors, not only Minn Kota.
